Operational Locations:
Our Mildenhall base is the primary ambulance station for the companies East
of England Locality and operates a fleet of Emergency Ambulances & Rapid
Response Cars on various NHS contracts. Mildenhall station is a full time
station, operating 365 days a year. It's centrally located in Mildenhall High
Town, and has easy access to the A11, A14, M11 corridor which serves both
Suffolk, Cambridge, Norfolk and Hertfordshire. The ambulance station offers
EMS's Management Team a permanent office base, training and boardrooms along
with operational crew rest rooms and kitchen facilities as well as our Fleet
Maintenance Department & Central Medical Stores.
The Addenbrookes Hospital site provides a forward operational base for our
full time crews who work under the direct dispatch of the hospitals transport
department. These full time crews provide a range of transport solutions to
numerous wards and departments that include Adult & Paediatric Intensive Care
Departments, Neurological Critical Care Departments & Cardiac Care Unit.. The
Ambulances are located onsite at the hospital which allows an instant response
to all Routine, Urgent & Emergency Transfer Requests. Operating Monday-Friday
09:00-21:00Hrs from the hospitals grounds EMS provide a complete transport
service to the trust without extended waiting time to the patients and staff. At
weekends an "On Call" Crew operate from the companies Mildenhall Station
allowing on average a maximum of a 30 minute response time from initial call
out.
